  • Forest Assessor

    An easy-to-use e.Cognition ruleset to fully measure tree parameters. This ruleset has been developed and applied during the course of various projects with a large German State Forest Administration and other private forest owners. It is designed to create a polygon shapefile representing single tree crowns. It can process all types of forest stands, including very young and mature stands simultaneously. During the processing, a stand is divided into homogeneous groups based on tree height. Each group is then processed separately using different sets of variables. These variables can be adjusted by the user.     The DESMI ROTAN® pumps are used for pumping of different sugar products from cane and beet juice to molasses and finished sugar solutions. The sugar products supplied direct from the sugar mill is chemically neutral whereas imported sugar products may contain small amounts of formic or sulphuric acid in order to prevent fermentation during transportation. Sugar products containing acid may cause corrosion in cast iron pumps so in some cases stainless steel pumps should be used. Sugar products have to be considered an abrasive liquid which is why the pump material has to be of wear resistant material. Viscosity of sugar products lies between 500 and 20,000cSt dependent on temperature and dry matter (BRIX). Therefore, it is recommended to pay special attention to the viscosity in relation to temperature when selecting a pump. Seal less pumps has been successfully used and to prevent bearing problems the pumps should be dimensioned to approximately 30 per cent of maximum speed.
