    Ozone Water Treatment for Aquaculture

Three reasons why ozone in aquaculture improves water quality and increase aquaculture productivity. As recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) operate by reusing the fish tank water it is essential to control the water quality. Many studies show that treating RAS systems with ozone increases productivity as fish health and survival is increased.

  • Aquaculture UV Disinfection

Ultraviolet disinfection systems in hatcheries, fish farms and aquariums have enabled operators to farm or keep greater yields of healthier stock.

Water quality is key to commercial aquaculture operators. Poor water quality will have an impact on the ability to successfully hatch eggs, raise juvenile fish and grow strong, healthy stock, so naturally a large investment is made in water cleansing systems. Chemical methods, while effective at killing some water-borne microbes, can...

Aeration and mixing technologies for aquaculture

Maintain healthier ponds, increase stocking densities, and generate higher yield with optimum oxygen transfer. Maintaining the proper level of oxygen dispersion in your systems is critical to the success of your operation – and the life of your fish. Poor dissolved oxygen levels, fluctuating water temperatures, and stratification all can negatively affect fish health and pond production.

  • Aeration of Crayfish Basins

Crayfish is a very demanding species when it comes to the quality of water. One of the most important facts is the sufficient content of oxygen concentration in water. Actually the crayfish is just as demanding as salmonoids about oxygen content. During warmer seasons oxygen content of the water should be at least 5 mg/l (oxygen saturation at least 50 %). In the winter the crayfish can adapt to short periods with 2 – 3 mg/l content if all the other environmental conditions are favorable.

    Crayfish...

  • Aeration of Fish basins

Salmonoids are especially demanding about water quality and high oxygen content. The oxygen concentration should be kept at least 5 mg/l throughout the year. This ensures good condition of fish and facilitates quick maturity without disturbances.

Sufficient oxygen content near the basin bottom (2 mg/l) prevents leaching of nutrients and in particular phosphor into the water. Dissolved nutrients have a detrimental impact on water quality and – at worst  – can cause growth of cyanobacterium...
