Aquaculture is the fastest growing meat protein industry in the world. Microbial Discovery Group’s in-depth understanding of water quality, feed conversion, and disease prevention creates strong value-add partnerships.Similar to any other farming system, the aquaculture industry must confront environmental problems resulting from the industry’s intensification and commercialization. The need to produce and yield more tends to push these systems...
By Microbial Discovery Group (MDG) based in Franklin, WISCONSIN (USA).Aquaculture is an increasing growth market. Crayfish is a very demanding species when it comes to the quality of water. One of the most important facts is the sufficient content of oxygen concentration in water. Actually the crayfish is just as demanding as salmonoids about oxygen content. During warmer seasons oxygen content of the water should be at least 5 mg/l (oxygen saturation at least 50 %). In the winter the crayfish can adapt to short periods with 2 – 3 mg/l content if all the other environmental conditions are favorable.
