Communication between cells in multi-cellular organisms, such as animals, humans and plants, is essential for coordinating the organismic activities of fertilisation, growth, survival and reproduction. This biochemical communication between trillions of cells in organisms can be more complex than the internet. This paper develops a CMOS circuit model of signal reception and signal transduction within a cell in response to extracellular molecular signals. A micro-sequenced model has been developed where the signal transduction steps are clocked by circadian time intervals. The model converts the chemical signalling pathway into a CMOS multi-step logical transformation cascade transducing a received signal molecule into an activated cellular protein response. This modelling technique leads to understanding cellular malfunctions (diseases) in the form of logical (electrical) faults in a circuit.

Separating micro pollutants by an innovative membrane process.
Combined adsorption of micro pollutants on activated carbon and membrane filtration of MICRODYN-NADIR has proven an alternative to the established activated carbon/precipitation/sand filtration process.Contamination of the environment by micro pollutants has clearly been proved by now. Due to the high concentration of microorganisms and the contamination by antibiotics coming from animal breeding, hospitals and ambulant applications, elimination of micro pollutants in biologically treated wastewater becomes more...
A new reactor for denitrification and micro-particle removal in recirculated aquaculture systems
A ‘membrane-denitrification’ reactor (MDR) was developed and tested in a semi-technical recirculation aquaculture system in comparison to a double – without MDR – as reference system. The MDR consisted of a reactor with an ultrafiltration membrane unit for removal of micro-particles (e.g. sludge flocs, bacteria and parasites). Specific carrier material provided surfaces for biofilm growth in a fluidized bed reactor with ethanol as carbon source for denitrification. The continuous motion of these carriers cleaned...
Development of a Cleaning Validation Method for MICRO® A07 Citric Acid Cleaner Using HPLC-CAD
AbstractA high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method with a Corona Charged Aerosol detector for the cleaning validation of MICRO* A07 Citric Acid Cleaner residue has been developed. The pooled average repeatability of 3 replicates at 6 concentration levels expressed as RSD was 1.3 % while the pooled average intermediate precision (intra-day repeatability in 3 days) of 3 replicates at 6 concentration levels was 2.4 %. Simulated maximum allowable carryover (MAC) was calculated by using 10 ppm of MICRO®...
Steel Fire Sprinkler Tank Inspection Case Study
These images show the steel fire sprinkler tank before any preparation work and then after preparation. The steel fire sprinkler tank was fully relined with Acothane DW. A Logistics company in Berkshire recently had an R.O.V Inspection carried out on their Fire Tank, we also provided them a sprinkler tank maintenance. The sprinkler tank inspections confirmed significant amounts of corrosion to numerous areas of the internal substrate. The overall size of the fire sprinkler tank is approximately 9.2m diameter x...
