Millennium of Glass Recycling

Abstract
Recycling of packaging material is a recent concern for many countries and the last 20 years have seen remarkable changes and applications in the recycling industry.
However, recycling of materials is not a new concept for the Anatolian civilization and most of us do not imagine that, glass recycling has a history of more than a thousand years. Among the oldest and most important object was the recycled glass found in a shipwreck. Around A.D 1025 a merchant ship of uncertain origin, sank at 36 meters in the confines of SerçelimanĂ½, a natural harbour on the Southern Mediterranean Coast of Turkey.
