Plastics Waste Pyrolysis Optimisation
Courtesy of
This paper presents the optimisation of experimental parameters (run temperature, initial pressure, reaction time, and plastic waste feed) on plastic wastes pyrolysis total conversion and on yields of both gases and liquids. The plastic waste used will include, different compositions of the more abundant plastics in municipal solid wastes: polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and polystyrene (PS). The analysis of products formed and the determination of their chemical composition provided a better insight to understand which of chemical bonds were more vulnerable to be broken for each plastic waste composition under different experimental conditions. This paper presents the results obtained so far.
