Stream restoration - Case study
Courtesy of Environmental Remediation Contractor
Environmental Remediation Contractor was hired as the Environmental General Contractor to restore Fetter’s Run Park in Lancaster, Ohio. This involved clearing & grubbing land adjacent to the stream. We did Demolition of an existing bike path & pavilion then removal of an existing playground. Excavation of a stream bank to lay back slope to create a floodplain bench for the stream. We then installed in stream structures including, j-hooks, rock weirs & three clusters of eddy rocks. Next, over 4,000 SF of articulating concrete block mat was installed for slope stabilization. The project was finished by installing a new bike path followed by planting various trees & shrubs then seeding & mulching the entire site.
