Founded by Yalman A. Khan and Kunal G. Wadhwani, and fueled by their vision of feeding the future, agricel was established in 2010 following several technical and commercial tests carried out in 2009 for Film Farming methods and the use of hydrophilic boosters. Upon completion of these tests, the founding team secured major regional institutions to partner with. These original tests were carried out in Japan, China, Pakistan, Nigeria, the U.A.E. and the U.K. agricel exclusively markets, services and sells the film farming and hydrophilic booster technologies developed in Japan. agricel’s products have been commercially successful for over 4 years, in Japan and China. More recently, Australia ran a successful transformation from hydroponic farming to the new use of film farming in 2010.
|These technologies have shown fractional usage of water (with savings up to 90%), double-digit plant productivity and yield increases, and produces best in class nutritious food. The entire objective of agricel is to create nutritious food using fractional amounts of water and commercial production of high yielding food within the existing farming paradigm.
agricel is currently focusing on tying up with companies/organizations which do not necessarily have farming technologies or experience, but definitely powerful distribution networks, negotiation capabilities, and that believe in the huge potential demand to film farming being the ideal to supply the safe, reliable, high nutritive produce.
