aquaFUTURE – Made for everyday use based on our practical experience
The company was founded on 17.11.1983. At an early age in my childhood I became interested in fish. I grew up in Siegen, but spent most of my holidays in Schleswig-Holstein. It was there I befriended a local professional angler, and he gave me an invaluable insight into waters and fish. Our working day normally began at 5 a.m. and finished at 10 p.m. It was an exciting and forming time for me.

From the age of 16 I had aquariums in the cellar of my parents' house, and carried out many experiments, largely with tropical fish. In addition to my commercial education, I went through miscellaneous on-the-job practical experience trainings and attended numerous seminars, as well as husbanding my first hobby rainbow trout pond.

Once I had gained enough practical experience with rainbow trout I went on to specialise in the production of sea trout and artic char. These were mainly delivered as stock to dams and large flooded gravel pits. Due to the heavy demand for quality stocking fish I quickly reached my delivery opportunities. This was especially the case for 'difficult to breed' fish species. In retrospect, my decision to take up undisclosed partnerships and cooperations with respectable partners, was exactly right.

I would especially like to earmark the development of egg incubation boxes; a system which has become nationally and internationally established, and with its help, part of my stocking philosophy has been achieved. The teamwork has provided me with the spare time to participate at national and international exhibitions, advanced training events, and other venues where ideas are exchanged. All this provides me with up-to-date knowledge and excellent contacts, which I am able to implement when providing problem solutions to my clients.

The following elaborations probably do not apply for all waters, but there is a growing demand, especially for juvenile freshwater fish, resulting from native reproduction and breeding with corresponding quality. The reasons for this are the legal guidelines on the one hand, and on the other the excellent and encouraging results achieved through ecologically as well as economically sound stocking measures. Based on longtime practical experience and numerous intensive discussions with our regular customers, we are certain that midterm planning is the prerequisite for achieving our joint targets. Top-quality and where possible, native stock material, is just one link in the long chain of biological correlation and necessities. Apart from delivering freshwater fish which, in part, is fed with live plankton, our future services will also include:

  • accompaniment at resettlement activities, and scientific advice, where required
  • advice on queries regarding water husbandry
  • viewing the site where freshwater fish are to be produced
  • providing freshwater fish planning conceptsto cover many years
  • spawn breeding and reproduction of native fish species and forms
  • wage-earning breeding of sensitive anddifficult to produce fish species
  • support in microbiological test and examination of water courses and fish stocks

Once a mutual agreement has been reached and a plan devised, it is possible to provide all indigenous fish species and sizes, including a number of rare breeds.

Because our working, production and delivery methods are timeconsuming our prices might not appear to be reasonable at first glance. However, our regular customers have come to appreciate the results of our client and watercourse-orientated work. The delivery volume as well as the contract duration are factors which have a significant effect on pricing.

Timely contact is the pre-requisite for optimal planning and success.
Our success is based on many features: long-term experience on a European scale, close co-operation with leading institutes and scientists, as well as worldwide contacts and exchange of ideas and know-how at numerous international workshops and the like. We offer the following services:

Fish breeding
Wage-earning breeding and the production of sensitive and difficult-to-breed fish species: when requested, we take all the most important parameters into consideration such as origin or genetic variability. As we carry out our breeding activities in various breeding plants, we are invariably able to provide the entire spectrum of native freshwater fish species.

Watercourse husbandry
Advice on queries relating to watercourse husbandry. Provision of ecologically and economically sound stocking plans. Advice and supervision during resettlement projects for various fish species, as well as delivery of high quality freshwater fish.

Know-how transfer
For many years now we have been actively employed in breeding parent fish, artificial insemination and spawn husbandry. We can draw on a great deal of experience with Salmo and Cyprinidae species
