Bartram Mowers was founded in 1972 by Barry Bartram and operated out of premises at Norwich airport, employing four people. The largest part of the business was initially based around the distribution of Flymo products through a network of dealers in Norfolk and Suffolk. The company philosophy was to only sell to franchises that they could back up with an excellent spare parts service in combination with fully equipped workshop facilities. This belief continues today.
With a large increase in the wholesaling side of the business, new premises were required and at the end of 1979 we moved into a new, purpose built 20-acre building on the southern outskirts of Norwich, where we remain today. In 1988 we opened a purpose built depot in Ipswich on the Ransomes Park Industrial Estate offering showrooms, workshops and a spare parts department.
