Cordex main focus was the production of agricultural sisal twine which is still produced to this day, though it was the implementation of synthetic ropes in the1970s that allowed Cordex to overcome the adversity other producers experienced during these troubled and turbulent times. During the 1980s Cordex began a total overhaul in the modernization of the factory. Changes were made to the entire infrastructure and organization of the company and the production of synthetic baler twine for agricultural use began in earnest. With a focus on reinvestment and continual modernization the production of flexible foam began as well.
