Our Company started as Hawkeye Manufacturing in 1968 in Yankton, South Dakota.  Many changes occurred over the next 37 years until May 2005 when we became Dakota Trailer Manufacturing, Inc.  Since that final change consistent growth and expansion has occurred.

Our growth over the last 6 years is shown in the number of trailers, employees and dealer networks, along with plant expansions and movements.  We went from building approximately 108 trailers with 8 employees in 2005 to current day, where we build over 400 trailers a year with 115 employees.  We specialize in fabricating grain hopper trailers, grain or gravel boxes, gravel belly dumps and tilt side dumps.  With our Grain Hoppers we do not sell direct, but rather through a dealer network made up of more than 30 trailer dealers in over 16 Mid-West States.  We have over 20 box dealers and are expanding every year in both market places.  Since becoming Dakota Trailer Manufacturing, Inc., in 2005 we have continued to grow and now sell trailers in Canada.

Dakota Trailer Manufacturing, Inc., will continue to expand our marketplace with dealers while still providing unmatched customer service and quality products.

While growth is happening we will still build every trailer, side dump, gravel dumps and box with Dakota Pride!

Our pledge is to establish lasting relationships with our customers by exceeding their expectations and gaining their trust through exceptional performance by every member of our Dakota Pride team.  We are a robust company that adapts to the ups and downs in individual industries so our customers can depend on us to be there when they need us, in good times and bad.  We appreciate our achieved success and we conduct our business with honorable 'Dakota Pride'.
