History
In 1954, Ellens Equipment started in the city of McBain. It's founder, June Ellens, purchased the Allis-Chalmers equipment business from Vander Woude Motor Sales which had been selling automobiles and Allis-Chalmers equipment. The new found business was located in the rear of the McBain Hardware store.
In 1968, Ellens Equipment moved into their first building, located on M-66, the present location. In the early 1970's, Ellens Equipment expanded its offering to include Ford and New Holland equipment.
In the mid 90's, the Allis-Chalmers equipment contract was discontinued and Ellens Equipment Inc. became focused on their New Holland equipment. The business changed hands from father to son Don in 1993. It soon became evident the business had out grown its current facility. As a result, in August 1999, a larger service department was added on to the existing building and the parts showroom was remodeled.
Ellens Equipment is still growing by adding to the long list of products they carry. The New Holland FR9000 Series Self-Propelled Forage Harvesters were added to the lineup in 2010, followed by the T9 4WD Tractor Series added in 2012.
The staff at Ellens Equipment Inc. continues to provide their customers with excellent sales and service, something we take pride in. Customer satisfaction is largely due to being blessed with talented employees. After 60 years, God continues to bless the efforts here and for that we are very grateful.
