European Protein AS
European Protein AS was founded in 2011 by Lone and Jens Legarth with the aim to develop and produce a dried, lactic acid fermented protein feed primarily to pigs but also to other livestock such as poultry, fish, etc. Based on personal experience from pig and poultry production as well as several experiments with fermented protein feed the possibility of building our own production facility in Jelling, Denmark became a reality, in 2011. The construction of the plant was completed in the fall 2012. Our patented production method makes it possible for us to mix almost any source of plant and animal protein. In this way, we have infinite opportunities to design just the amino acid profile that fits your animals while natural enzymes and lactic acid bacteria are present so that the stomach and gut health of the animals is improved.

Who We Are
On the Danish fair Agromek the company was awarded the Agromek price in 2010 for our fermented rape protein which was a significant news in pig production. At Eurotier 2012, we received a silver medal in innovation for the development of Designer Protein. Designer Protein is the concept we are using in e.g. the development of new products. Our vision is to be the preferred supplier of protein feed to farmers and feed companies in Denmark and internationally.
Our mission is to spread the fermented protein feed to farmers in Denmark and internationally. It is our belief that EP products will improve the environment, the health of your animals and the end consumers as well as your economy.
European Protein AS is a subsidiary of Fermentationexperts AS and sister company to Vådfodereksperten AS. The company has become a reality through collaboration between Fermentationexperts AS and Aarhus University with funding from Fornyelsesfonden.
