Global Sales, originally the sales division of a well known engineering hire company, was established in 1997 by Andy Gould and, within a few years, became highly respected for quality products and efficient servicing.
By chance, a local tree surgeon asked if his damaged wood chipper (an ageing truck loader) could be repaired. Not only did the company to meet the challenge, but through close contact with the manufacturer its team developed a unique expertise in arboricultural machines and equipment.
Realising there was nobody local able to supply and maintain the wide variety of equipment used by Midlands’ arborists, Global Sales became distributors and suppliers of prominent, trusted brands that included Stihl, Husqvarna, and Silky Fox.
In March 2001, the company set up independently, fully focused on arboriculture and groundcare. The following years saw expansion which warranted a move to larger premises in Solihull and, in 2007, appointment as distributor for Kubota Tractors and Groundcare Products. It was then that Rod Townsend, joined as Sales Director, bringing a wealth of additional groundcare experience.
2008 brought further expansion with appointment main dealers throughout the Midlands for GreenMech Chippers and Shredders, adding another prominent name, well known in arboriculture across Europe for its very cost effective, UK manufactured machines.
Another year on and with space at a premium, it was time to move again, to Kings Heath in Birmingham, where a larger showroom and machine compound, plus extensive workshop facilities has created the space for future exciting developments. Accessibility is also improved with close proximity to the hub of the motorway network,
Today, the same energy and enthusiasm that started the company remains - with an ever expanding range of branded products; experienced maintenance and repair services; specialist plant hire; credit accounts for businesses and private estates; and selected distributorships across the Central and West Midlands, South Staffordshire Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
