About us
The backbone of the company’s philosophy has always been to build up to a standard and not down to a cost. It is this philosophy which has driven forward our design and fabrication teams to create our unique range of highly versatile livestock and commercial trailers that provide our customers with a robust and reliable means of conducting their business.
History
Graham Edwards Trailers was formed in the mid 1980's. Initially Graham produced small bespoke units, notably camping trailers and small box vans for local hot air balloon enthusiasts. In 1989 Graham was joined by Martin Garside and between them they developed Graham's idea for a livestock trailer to rival those already available. In 1991 They were joined by Matthew, Graham's son, who spent much of his time visiting local markets, notably Otley and York, showing the new concepts to local farmers, which were well received.
Over the next few years, the company continued to develop new concepts and grow in both stature and strength; gaining a strong foothold in the highly competitive trailer market. During this period the company moved to its current location and continued to develop as well as establishing a nationwide network of suppliers.
In the mid 1990’s the company developed and patented the wind away deck which was a substantial and unique concept for livestock trailers. Our wind away deck offers users a versatile method of utilising our livestock trailers.
In 2006 the company introduced Solidworks computer generated design software. This design capability not only helped to update and improve existing trailer types but helped to develop a growing capability to design and build bespoke units of all sorts.
Throughout our 30 years, the company has continued to develop and maintain our reputation for designing and building trailers to the highest standards. Building up to a standard and not down to a cost remains at the heart of our philosophy.
