Hanby Environmental
Hanby colorimetric test method was discovered in 1986 by John Hanby for identifying the presence of hydrocarbons in soil or water. The Hanby method offers a revolutionary solution to obtaining on-site samples that potentially contain petroleum related substances. Field testing is inherently costly, time consuming and, quite often, unreliable. The Hanby method is designed to provide a precise color indication of the concentration of petroleum (gasoline, diesel, crude oil, etc) in field samples. This rapid, accurate method won immediate recognition by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, state regulatory agencies throughout the United States and various international regulatory agencies around the world. In addition to serving customers throughout the United States, the Company offers its full product line to customers throughout the world.

When John Hanby received his Patent for the Hanby method, Hanby Environmental Laboratory Procedures, Inc. was founded by Barbara Hanby, a 100% woman-owned corporation, to promote this method by licensing the rights to manufacture and market this new patent from the inventor, John Hanby. H.E.L.P., INC has now dissolved and become the newly restructured company, Hanby Environmental LLC. The company took on new partners in managment and marketing, and has relocated the manufacturing and office facilites to be strategically located in Houston, in close proximity to much of the petroleum related activity in the United States. In addition to serving customers throughout the United States, the Company offers its full product line to customers throughout the world.
Hanby Environmental TPH Soil Test Kit
The Hanby Environmental TPH Soil Test Kit includes the reagents to perform 15 analysis. The detection range on this test kit is from 0-1k ppm. This test is a colorimetric test whereby the color that develops indicates the specific hydrocarbon that is present or most present in the case of a mixture and the intensity of the color or lightness or darkness of the color determines the concentration level. The kit does include a 10 ml graduated cylinder, so a dilution could be performed increasing the upper limit from 1k to 10k ppm. It is highly recommended that the complement Hanby Mobile Application be used to increase the level of accuracy and documentation of the analysis results.
Hanby Environmental TPH Soil HIGH RANGE Test Kit
The Hanby Environmental TPH Soil HIGH RANGE Test Kit includes the reagents to perform 15 analaysis. The detection range for this kit is 0-50k ppm (5%). This test is a colorimetric test whereby the color that develops indicates the specific hydrocarbon that is present or most present in the case of a mixture and the intensity of the color or lightness or darkness of the color determines the concentration level. The kit does include a 10 ml graduated cylinder, so a dilution could be performed increasing the upper limit from 50k ppm (5%) to 500k ppm (50%). It is highly recommended that the complement Hanby Mobile Application be used to increase the level of accuracy and documentation of the analysis results.
Hanby Environmental TPH Water Test Kit
The Hanby Environmental TPH Water Test Kit includes the reagents to perform 15 analysis. This kit is focused on low detection of hydorcarbons in water, with the lower calibration being 0.1 ppm or 100 ppb. This test is a colorimetric test whereby the color that deelops indicates the specific hydrocarbon that is present or most present in the case of a mixture and the intensity of the color or lightness or darkness of the color determines the concentration level. The kit includes a 10 ml graduated cylinder, so a dilution could be performed increasing the upper limit which differs depednign on the calibration for each contaminate type; from 25 ppm and 50 ppm, to 250 ppm and 500 ppm. The use of the complement Hanby Mobile Application is highly reccommended to increase both the level of accuracy and documentation of the analysis results.
Hanby Environmental TPH Soil Refill Reagent Set
The Hanby Environmental TPH Soil Test Kit Refill Reagent Sets includes the reagents to perform 15 analysis. The detection range on this test kit is from 0-1k ppm. This test is a colorimetric test whereby the color that develops indicates the specific hydrocarbon that is present or most present in the case of a mixture and the intensity of the color or lightness or darkness of the color determines the concentration level. Hanby Environmental Mobile Application
Hanby Environmental is excited to announce the release of our mobile application to complement our TPH Field Test Kits.
Our mobile application will standardize the optical for the sample result measurement utilizing the camera on the cell phones that everyone carries.
Our mobile application will eliminate the subjectivity of the human eyes and will provide a means for immediately obtaining an accurate concentration reading, while capturing all the analysis data and creating an immediately shareable report. Additionally, the reports will be chronicled for future reference.
Our mobile application continues to keep our method simple while increasing the accuracy and providing reportable and savable data from the samples analyzed in the field.
It’s well known that analyzing a sample as soon as it is taken provides the most accurate concentration reading and now our mobile application assists in capturing that reading.
