Harriston Industries and Mayo Mfg. Co. are divisions of Harriston-Mayo. Harriston Industries is located in Minto, North Dakota and is a manufacturer of a variety of potato and edible bean equipment. Products include Cup and Pick Potato Planters, Fertilizer Banders, Cultivators and Weeders, the Clodhopper and Terrastar dirt and clod removers and bean cutters and windrowers. Mayo Manufacturing Company is located in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and is a manufacturer of potato and vegetable handling equipment. Products include Bin Pilers, Evenflows, Conveyors, Wash and Grading Equipment and Truck and Rail Car Loaders. Mayo also provides plant layout and custom design manufacturing services.
Harriston Industries was founded in 1973 by Tom and Tony Osowski. It was originally named Minto Machine Shop and was a repair and light manufacturing business. Their name was changed to Harriston Industries when they began manufacturing potato and edible bean equipment.
Mayo Manufacturing was founded in 1952 by Mayo Delisle, who was joined by his son, Duane, the following year. Mayo Manufacturing Co. also started as a repair and light manufacturing shop and added lines of potato handling equipment throughout the 1960’s and ‘70’s. Mike and Mark Delisle joined the company in 1977.
Harriston and Mayo joined together and became Harriston-Mayo in 2006. The quality lines of equipment manufactured by each became an unmatched product line of potato and edible bean equipment. Harriston-Mayo also has a large parts department providing agricultural and industrial drive components in addition to parts to service potato and bean equipment.
