The production of tipping trailers began when in the 1950’s combines for grain tanks started to be common. Ivarssons I Metsjö has always focused on rational transportation. In the beginning of the 1980’s the company started the production of hook-lift trailers. The development of roll-on/roll-off bodies, when it comes to tractor-drawn trailers, has been really dynamic, since there are significant advantages over trucks. Because of the high standards in safety regarding the brakes and lights the maintenance benefits of a hook-lift trailer are much bigger, because there is only one chassis that has to be maintaned when it comes to brakes, tires, lights and other equipment and on the other hand the trailer is capable of handling different types of containers and platform bodies.

How it began?
We needed to find a solution-that’s how it began. Before 40 years we needed a trailer for our farmyard in the outskirts of Linköping, Sweden. The starting point was a chassis from a truck, which we used as a basis and mainframe for the trailer. The result exceeded our expectations. All the neighbors saw how useful the trailers were and began ordering wagons from the brothers Ivarsson. First we made one wagon, then another … and that’s how we started the company.

A new generation is continuing the work
Today the production is thriving as never before. A new generation has taken over the company - cousins Per and Anders Ivarsson

We focus on three main products – trailers, industrial halls and chemical storage cabinets. Our goal is our products to be cheap but nevertheless that they maintain and keep their high quality. We supply our goods in pre-cut lengths directly from steel companies, which helps us to keep low prices. In addition we work close with our clients so we can get on the right track from the beginning. The opportunity to test our products on our own fields also gives us a very good end result.

Tipping and hook-lift trailers
Tipping trailers were our original products. We started with a converted truck trailer, which today is developed into a system of different bodies used for agriculture and other needs. You can find a container, which will suit all your needs. We at Metsjö live and work on a little farm. We know how framing is done. This allows us to continue the development of our products, which is a must for the success of our business.

Chemical and LPG storage cabins
Gas stations and the selling of LPG started in the beginning of the 1980’s, so we decided to start the production of storage cabins for LPG. The business was rapidly developing; you could see our products in shops, laboratories, schools and restaurants-everywhere were it was required to have an environmentally friendly and safe storage of LPG. We develop our products with corporation with fire departments and environmental advisory councils. We construct our products regarding the European standards for dangerous goods.

Machine halls
The so called Metsjö halls are a unique and flexible system for buildings, which are supplied in complete sets, isolated or not. These halls are mainly used for agricultural and industrial needs, but they can have a wider range of application. We construct them in the range of 10 to 40 meters. Every hall requires all lot of raw material and that’s why we deliver our goods directly from the steel companies. Thanks to that we could keep our prices low.We at Metsjö also have a steel shop that is a natural connection to our other activities.
