Korean Society for Horticultural Science(KSHS)

Korean Society for Horticultural Science (KSHS), founded in 1963, has become the largest and most active group in agricultural science in Korea with registered members of more than 1800. The KSHS holds regular meetings twice a year, the first one in May and the second one in October. The meetings are usually held for 2 days and more than 400 papers covering entire sections of horticultural science and technology are presented at each meeting. In addition to the oral and poster presentations, 3 symposia and plenary lectures by invited prominent horticultural researchers over the world are regularly scheduled. KSHS publishes Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology (six issues per year) and Korean Journal of Horticutural Science & Technology (six issues a year). Besides the journals, a number of publications are also available including Cumulative Index.

Welcome to the Korean Society for Horticultural Science (KSHS), where you will find a wealth of information and meet amicable people in the area of horticultural science. The KSHS founded in 1963 has become the largest and most active agricultural societies in Korea. The Society has 1,800 members who are actively engaged in horticultural pursuits. The KSHS holds biannual science meetings where more than 400 papers are presented. In addition to the oral and poster presentations, symposia and plenary lectures by prominent researchers are regularly scheduled.

In addition to the regular meetings the KSHS has hosted many international symposia and congress including Horticulture in Northeast Asia (1993), Lily (1994), Vegetable Quality (1997), Bioregulators in Fruit Production (2001), Asian Plants (2002), Persimmons (2004), Brassica Crops & Crucifers (2004), and the International Horticultural Congress 2006 of the International Society for Horticultural Science. More than 2000 registrants participated in the congress with more than 1,500 scientists from abroad.

The KSHS publishes Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology (HEB, six issues per year) and Korean Journal of Horticultural Science and Technology (six issues per year). HEB is an international journal devoted to the publication of original and reviews papers in the horticultural science fields.

The Society has provided horticulturist with the highest quality horticultural technology in breeding, biotechnology, production, postharvest technology and utilization of fruit, vegetable crops, as well as flowers and nursery crops. We support the horticultural industry, which contributes significantly to the health, well being and enjoyment of life for people throughout the world.
