ABOUT US
After gardening for more than 25 years in western Massachusetts, I am pleased to have the opportunity to care for the plants and display areas within the walled gardens of Mynd Hardy Plants. Living in bucolic South Shropshire with Marie, my English wife, for the past four years, I have become deeply impressed by the rich love affairs the English carry on with their gardens. Having established and operated a specialised Hemerocallis nursery on our farm in New England for 10 years, we are featuring more than 100 varieties of daylilies - bred abroad/grown in Britain - alongside a wide selection of other herbaceous perennials, some unusual, all suitable for being confidently grown in English gardens.
Believing gardens to be sources of refreshment, creativity and joy, it is our goal to open Mynd Hardy Plants as a haven of welcome to all who take comfort and inspiration from their gardens. Feeling that gardening is, indeed, a tonic for mind, body and spirit, we intend to offer our customers a range of perennials which can provide years of proud pleasure and sublime enjoyment.
A friend recently informed me that the word 'paradise' derives from the Persian word for 'walled garden'. I warmly invite the passionate gardeners, near and far, to discover the walled garden nursey of Mynd Hardy Plants. Please visit, wander among our display and stock gardens and share with us that affection for the soothing beauty of well tended gardens.
