North American Pipe’s eight extrusion facilities and six customer service centers allow us to provide significant resources to better serve our customers and sales force. This translates to prompt deliveries and quick responses from our knowledgeable team. Our dedication to service is at the core of our business and remains unparalleled in the industry.
North American Pipe’s extensive product offering includes pipe ranging from ½” through 36” in diameter in both gasketed and solvent weld configurations.
Westlake’s PVC/VCM facilities provide a consistent and constant supply of superior quality resin to our pipe plants, and our gasket and additive vendors must comply to rigid specifications so that our products remain top of the line. We strictly adhere to ASTM, UL and FM standards to ensure that our customers get exactly what they need.
North American Pipe Corporation, a subsidiary of Westlake Chemical Corporation, was formed in 1992 with the purchase of three PVC pipe plants located in Georgia, Kentucky, and Mississippi. All of these plants manufacture pipe with integral gasketed joints for use in potable water and sanitary sewer systems.
In 1993, North American Pipe acquired a PVC pipe plant in north Texas which produces a broad product line including PVC pipe for plumbing and industrial applications as well as for water and sewer projects.
North American Pipe expanded once again in 1994 with the acquisition of three additional PVC pipe plants located in Indiana, Illinois, and Arkansas. All of these plants specialize in pipe for potable water and sewer applications.
Also in 1994, North American Pipe began producing vinyl fence at the Mississippi plant. This modest beginning has grown into Westech Fence, a leading producer of PVC fence components used in residential, commercial and agricultural applications where it offers long, maintenance-free service life. Westech Fence operations were relocated to the Indiana plant in 1998, and PVC pipe capacity from there was distributed among the other plants to maintain the markets served out of this location.
The largest acquisition to date occurred in 2004 when North American Pipe purchased all three of the PVC pipe plants from Bristolpipe. These plants are located in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, and manufacture a broad range of products servicing primarily the plumbing wholesale, DIY (do-it-yourself), and underground markets.
In 2008, North American Pipe expanded with the construction of the Yucca, Arizona plant. The plant in Yucca, Arizona extends our service area to the western US and also has the capacity to produce pipe up through 36”.
In 2009, North American Pipe acquired the Janesville, Wisconsin plant from Freedom Plastics. This acquisition allowed us to expand our capacity in several existing product lines as well as add Sch 80 and large diameter Sch 40 to our offering.
Currently operating eight PVC pipe plants, North American Pipe is one of the largest and broadest PVC pipe producers in the United States, proudly servicing the water, sewer, plumbing, retail, and irrigation markets by providing our products “Right, On Time, All the Time”.
