Created in 1981, the Braga Exhibition Centre is the only structure of the region dedicated to trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences and other socio-cultural events, scientific, sports and recreation, national and international interest. The regular holding of fairs and exhibitions, in Braga, has since 1968, date of the first Agricultural Exhibition and North Industrial, event which was held at St. John in the annexes land Stadium May 1st. With its development and growth, the lack of a permanent trade fair has become a key issue for the future of the Agricultural Fair and Industrial. Thus, in 1977, the city of Braga recognizing the importance of the event, decides to acquire the land needed for the construction of an enclosure equipped with the appropriate conditions for the realization of the agricultural exhibition and other directed the various economic activities.

Soon in 1981, the year of formal creation of the Braga Exhibition Centre, Agro is admitted to the Union of International Fairs (UFI), acquiring the international fair status, with the designation of AGRO - International Trade Fair for Agriculture, Livestock and Food.
In 1984, gives up the membership of the EURASCO - European Committee for Agricultural Societies and Trade Fair Organisers. In 1987, Braga Exhibition Park takes another important qualitative leap through the enrichment of its heritage. The year 1990 is another milestone in the life of Braga Exhibition Park. It closes the cycle of the great works, with the opening of the congress center, which includes the Grand Auditorium, media room and several breakout rooms. This infrastructure came from open an important area of activity in the Exhibition Centre: the congress. The Exhibition complex covers a total area of 45,000 m2 and 13,050 m2 of covered exhibition area distributed by the Exhibit Hall / Hall 1, Modular Outdoor, Street pavilions, and the remaining 31,950 m2 of exposicional discovery area. As a complementary structure of this complex, the PEB has an integrated Congress Center for Great Auditorium for 1204 seats, 6 simultaneous translation booths, support services with bar, restaurant and conference room, and several rooms with capacity 60 to 120 seats.
