Ray Lee started working at his first John Deere Dealership in 1963. The John Deere Dealership was owned by his uncle and it was located in the town of Meridian Texas. It was a town of about 950 people. Ray Lee worked in parts and service where he was a part time mechanic.

During this time, Ray and his fiance, Barbara, got married and had two kids. They became homesick and they decided to move back to his hometown of Plainview, Texas.

In 1965 he was back in Plainview, Texas. Here, Ray went to work for the local John Deere Dealership in Plainview. Ray was a man of all trades while working in the Plainview John Deere Dealership. He was mainly hired to keep the books but was soon working in parts and service. Ray became a key employee.

In the late 70′s, Ray bought a minor share in the business, then in 1986 Ray and his partner bought out the original owners and he became a primary owner in the Plainview Store. Ray and his partner began expanding the business by purchasing the Floydada Store in 1989, the Olton store in 1999 and the Dimmitt store in 2001.

In 2002, Ray’s two sons, Aaron and Mark, stepped into the picture and followed in their Dad’s footsteps. They both bought out Ray’s partner and Ray Lee’s truly became a family business. In 2005 the Ray Lee empire continued to expand when the family acquired the Muleshoe and Clovis Location.

Today, Ray Lee consists of 6 locations and each location is run by the family. Because of this, when you walk into any of the John Deere Dealerships, you will notice the friendly, personable atmosphere. The Lee’s listen to feedback from their customers and concentrate a lot of their attention on having a large parts inventory and an efficient and speedy service department in each of their stores.
