RDM Shrimp
RDM Shrimp raises the freshest and safest shrimp you can get inland. Available fresh daily from our store or from our wholesale partners. As the third of only 30 recirculating shrimp farms in the United States, we are an eco-friendly farm, meaning we reuse and recycle our water by using (good) bacteria to keep our tanks clean without using chemicals.

About Us
The RDM Shrimp Story
From traditional family farm to the cutting edge of aquaculture
From Idea to Reality
RDM Aquaculture was started on July 13, 2010 when we received our first batch of post larval shrimp (PLS). We didn’t know we were the 3rd privately owned shrimp farm in the country – we thought there were hundreds of us!
Starting with just six production and two nursery tanks, we began with 40% survival rates. While we were told 40% was a great number, our innovative spirits knew there had to be a better way.

The First “Test”
As very competitive, we were determined to succeed and started tweaking the water treatment and systems to improve survival rates.
Next Steps
Noting our increasing success, we continued to make changes such as moving to run 100% on air, all changes that helped the health of the shrimp.
The Result
After a lot of trial and error, we have designed a system with shrimp survival rates of 90% – the highest in the industry!
RDM Today
We’ve come a long way from our 8 tank days – RDM now has 36 tanks total and has consistently maintained 70-90% or higher survival rates!
