Relab den Haan is a family business which is established by Aad den Haan in 1980. Aad den Haan was an advisor for vegetable growers and noticed that there was a need for water and soil analyses. He then started together with his wife a laboratory for these kinds of analyses. This company has grown to a laboratory with about 20 people staff.
The laboratory of Relab den Haan has a RVA accreditation. The company is known because of its fast service. Water samples are being analyzed the same day, peat samples will be ready the next day.
The department plant pathology offers diagnosis of sick plants and preventative research. When we receive a plant we will directly start the diagnosis to find out which pathogen causes the damage. To determine which fungi or bacteria causes the damage we use DNA techniques like the DNA-multiscan. These methods are based on identifying the DNA of the pathogen. The results are known within two days.
