About Us
The Renewables Academy AG (RENAC), based in Berlin, Germany, is one of the leading international providers for training and capacity building on renewable energy and energy efficiency. Since our founding in 2008, more than 30,000 participants from 165 countries have participated in our training programmes.
Our belief is that knowledge is one of the key factors for the sustainable development of clean and secure energy supplies. Through training and capacity building, we aim to propagate the necessary know-how to satisfy the increasing demand for expertise throughout the industry, financial institutions and policy-setting bodies in the green markets.
Our workshops and courses cover the whole value chain of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency measures. We cover topics and skills needed from financing, managing, engineering, assessing, implementing, designing and maintaining alternative energy systems. We provide our clients with an understanding of the issues and challenges, as well as the skills to implement renewable energy projects on and off the electricity grid.
Motivation and Goals
The energy revolution is here and it needs experts and expertise!
Rising prices for fossil fuels and the fact that they are finite, noticeable climate change, technical developments and positive economies of scale - all these factors will cause the renewable energy industry to continue its strong growth in the future.
There is a great need for qualified staff and for training and further education in this area. RENAC's program provides training for technicians, decision-makers in policy-making and administration, suppliers and students.
The success factors for the opening up of international markets are not being addressed sufficiently in Germany although the potentials for the application of renewable energy technologies in developing and newly industrialized nations are considerable! In these countries especially rural electrification at reasonable cost is an important issue and renewable energy technologies offer practicable solutions. But despite the obligations of the Kyoto Protocol, know-how transfer by technology forerunners like Germany has been unsatisfactory.
Our goal is to qualify more personnel in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency. RENAC's method is to provide speedy and precise training with a lasting effect, for rapid practical application. We would like to fill a part of the gap in the market in Germany for training and further education in the area of renewable energy, and to facilitate the transfer of know-how to developing and newly industrialized nations.
Berlin, a multicultural metropolis with an extensive network of relevant institutions in business, research and academia, as well as government agencies and embassies, is an ideal location for the Renewables Academy.
