Roots Peru started its operations more than 26 years ago as producers of gypsophila. Over time, we grew naturally to become a company world-renowned for offering unique, innovative and high quality products. Dedicated to the production and exportation of fresh flowers to the most demanding markets in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America, we count with more than 100 hectares of cultivated land alongside the Peruvian territory; from the Andes to the desert and through the high jungle. We aim high every time. Our identifying characteristics are individuality, variety and exclusivity and our service is guided by consistency, reliability and quality, values which help us to provide our customers the best products, on time, every time.
Located on the Peruvian Andes, in the meeting between the White Mountain Range and the Black Mountain range, lies a place of exceptional beauty known as the Callejón de Huaylas. At the base of the highest mountains, a valley is formed. There, we encounter the town of Caraz, which possesses a unique microclimate allowing for the growth of a wide variety of flowers in natural conditions. A minimum temperature that never goes below 6 degrees Celsius (43 Fahrenheit), intense quality of light due to its closeness to the equator, fresh snowmelt water and nearby springs, all create ideal conditions for the growth of the most diverse products.
On a similar basis, the high jungle is a known area that combines both jungle and mountain characteristics. Acid soils in wet areas and tilted relief on some grounds generate avid areas for growth, creating a different and valuable ecosystem.
On the other hand, our desert offers the ecological conditions needed to produce using the counter season technique. This way, we can provide our clients with products in seasons in short supply elsewhere around the world.
Thanks to the generosity of our territory, Roots Peru is able to identify and locate the best soil, water and climate conditions for the cultivation of specific products. Additionally, the ample range of existing fertile areas, allow us to foresee future cultivation of products responding to the individual characteristics of each location.
With 28 out of 35 climates in the world, 84 out of the 114 existing life zones on the planet and being one of the 12 countries considered as highly diverse, Peru offers a multitude of scenarios resulting in a flexible, varied and high quality offer.
