The basis of today's Schouten Kampen BV was laid in the West Frisian city of Blokker, where the grandfather of the current shareholders, being a builder, developed a machine for processing flower bulbs, among other things. The development of these machines flourished and led to the relocation of the business to Kampen in the early nineteen sixties, because in Blokker there was no potential for expansion and the city of Kampen provided better opportunities for the ongoing development of the business. The central location, near the new polders, was also a major point of consideration for this decision.
Schouten wants to contribute to agricultural enterprise by providing technological and product-friendly solutions for grading and processing. In fact, this was precisely the starting point of the founder of our business. At the request of some customers, he started developing machines for processing bulbous cultures.
