Motors & Drives Division
The Motors & Drives Division, headquartered in Houston, is a world leader in the design and sale of low and medium voltage electric motors and adjustable speed drives. Many of these products are designed, built, and tested in our over 1,000,000 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. The Motors & Drives Division has a totally integrated manufacturing process; our research and development, design, engineering, production and manufacturing, and after-market service and support are all commandeered under one single roof. With the capability to test our products together as a complete system before it goes out into the field, we can ensure the highest level of quality, performance, and reliability.
Toshiba Industrial Products Canada Ltd. (TIPCA)
In 2013, TIC acquired Elettra Technology Inc. (ETI) and renamed the wholly-owned subsidiary to TIPCA. The acquisition was a strategic move for TIC to enhance its business portfolio of large electric motors in the Canadian and global marketplace. Manufacturing operations were located to a renovated state-of-the-art 58,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility near Hamilton, Ontario with an additional 5,000 sq. ft. of office space. The added space and crane capacity provides TIPCA with the ability to manufacture larger motors and motors that fill complex and special application requirements, such as explosion proof, marine, military, potash, and nuclear.
Toshiba Industrial Products, Asia, Co. (TIPA)
TIPA opened in September 2010 as a joint venture between TIC, Toshiba Corporation, Toshiba Industrial Products Manufacturing Corporation, & Toshiba Industrial Products Sales Corporation. The TIPA plant expands TIC's motor manufacturing capabilities to meet the global market's growing demand for premium efficiency motors and improved environmentally-responsible products that consume less power and emit less carbon dioxide. With approximately 861,113 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, TIPA has the capacity to produce up to 1.2 million high efficiency industrial motors a year.
Power Electronics Division
The Power Electronics Division offers power conditioning and power protection solutions highlighted by the uninterruptible power systems, rapid rechargeable battery (SCiB®), and power conditioning businesses. TIC Power Electronics products are renowned for reliability and efficiency, ideal for key markets such as datacenters, healthcare, and industrial.
