Governance & Funding
New board members are seated annually. We are receiving funding from a variety of sources including soy producer checkoff dollars invested by the USB and various state soybean councils; cooperating industry; and the American Soybean Association’s investment of cost-share funding provided by the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Foreign Agriculture Service.
Core Value Nomination
U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) has established the Crystal Bean USSEC Values Award to honor employees, who best demonstrate USSEC’s Core Values (Deliver World Class Performance, Act Responsibly, Foster our Diversity, and Trust our Team).
Nominations can be made at any time on the USSEC website and will be reviewed quarterly with one awardee being selected and honored at the end of the calendar year.
Eligibility Requirements
- Current Employee with a minimum of one year of service
- Current Employee in good standing
- Holds oneself accountable to work and goals
- Takes an optimistic approach to challenges and ideas
- Consistent in demonstrating the Core Values
- Presents a positive, problem solving, appreciative approach to team work
Submission Requirements
Nominations may be submitted by a peer, manager, director or CEO.
Selection Process
The Core Values Team will select one nominee each quarter. The Annual award will be chosen from the quarterly award winners. Team selections are final and non-negotiable.
Quarterly and Annual Award
Quarterly nominees will receive a lunch in honor of their accomplishments with a member of management and will be featured in the USSEC newsletters.
The one annual award winner will be announced and receive acknowledgement of their accomplishment at the USSEC December Board Meeting and will also be featured in the USSEC newsletters.
The quarters are:
- 1st Q Oct. 1 – Dec. 31
- 2nd Q Jan. 1st – Mar. 31
- 3rd Q Apr. 1 – Jun. 30
- 4th Q Jul. 1 – Sep. 30
Winners will be determined in Oct. and the winner will receive recognition at the USSEC December Board Meeting.
For FY2015 only, nominations will be considered beginning in Q2.
