Our History
1978
On 1st September 1978 Mr. Paul and Pierre Bisaillon acquire Équipment Universel that becomes Univerco Hydraulique (1978) Inc. At that time, they made sub-soiling draining machines and bull-dozer back plates.
1980
At that time, local Quebec growers had to import their machinery from Europe or elsewhere, but they were not adapted to the soil conditions in Quebec. Univerco seized the opportunity to develop a 3-point hitch carrot harvester. They also developed many other agricultural equipment in order to assist vegetable growers in Quebec and Ontario.
1985
Mr Paul Bisaillon became the sole owner of the company.
1988
Univerco designs and start production of an Onion Windrower-digger.
1992
Design, production and launch of an Onion Harvester.
1997
On March 10, Univerco relocates to a larger, brand new building. Univerco is moving forward to better serve its customers, with a vision of growth for the future.
1999
Univerco finds a new machine to manufacture: The ECO Weeder, a one or two-row weeder that can eliminate the weeds between the plants between the rows and between the plants on the row itself.
2000
Mr. Bisaillon transfers ownership of the company to his three sons, Mario, Alain and Carl.
2002
Always looking for new products and solutions for the vegetable growers, Univerco designs and builds the first Cabbage Harvester for long term storage.
2003
Production of the first larger size weeders, the multi-row Ecoweeder.
2008
Univerco celebrates its 30th anniversary serving the Canadian and American growers, while making its first sales and quickly expanding in the Mexican market.
2009
With an already very complete line up of vegetable harvesters, Univerco now decides to launch a new line of processing equipment for vegetable washing and packing plants.
2014
Design of a new Onion harvester for softer “short-day” onions that grow in the southern part of the United States and further south.
2016
Design and construction of the first self-propelled harvester for carrots and red beets, the MAC-II
2017
Design and construction of the first self-propelled 3-row broccoli harvester, the COMMANDER III
2018
Univerco celebrates its 40th anniversary…and this is only the beginning, the best is yet to come!
