Van`s Equipment began in 1989 as an opportunity to cater to the local dirt contractors. We learned early on that it`s difficult to be all things to all people, so we stick to what we do well, dirt equipment. As we continued to maintain our fleet better than most, we had consistent requests to sell our equipment. This sales aspect has become a very core part of our business. We sell both new and used. We`re a dealer for Yanmar Construction. As a privately owned company, we have the ability to make decisions and provide a service level that is rarely seen in todays marketplace. Whether it`s rentals or sales, you`ll appreciate the `customer focused culture` we live in, each and every day.

Yanmar has a rock-solid history of providing quality engines and equipment to the world. Yanmar is divided into several divisions: Construction Machinery, Marine, Industrial Engines, Agricultural Products and others. While engine production is the mainstay of the company, building over 210 different engine models, Yanmar is noted as a leading innovator for the Construction Equipment industry.
Yanmar was founded in 1912 and developed the world's first commercially viable small diesel engine in 1933. The diesel engine has continued as the core business ever since. Yanmar has brought the world ever more energy-efficient and economic engines and implements through a constant process of development and market expansion. The goal is to promote the quality of life by providing machines that use energy with the utmost efficiency and raising agricultural, construction, marine, and industrial productivity.
The first product in 1967 was a walk-behind Dozer. Yanmar continued producing these dozers through 1973. In 1968, Yanmar built the world's first compact excavator. This steel tracked machine became the basis for an explosion in the Construction Industry in Japan. With space a premium, other Japanese manufacturers recognized the impact such a 'right-sized' machine could have and joined the rush to get product to market. In 1971, Yanmar introduced a Crawler Loader and a Carrier Dumper, both 'minis' and became a full-line provider of compact equipment. Yanmar continued to experiment with different types of compact equipment throughout the 1970's including a Skid Steer Loader, a Crane Carrier and a Loader Backhoe. In 1979, Yanmar, again with another first, introduced the first mini excavator with rubber tracks, and the modern compact excavator was born.
In 1987, the B series excavators were introduced and advanced through three model improvements and advancements in technology. In 1994, Yanmar continuing its flair for innovation, introduced the ViO series, the first full line 'true zero-turning' radius machines. Yanmar will continue to develop and offer innovative products and is committed to offering more products in the North American market.
