About us
Vorti-Siv, a division of MM Industries, Inc., was founded in 1968 by Rudolf Maroscher, P.E. At the time, Mr. Maroscher was heading the Electrical Engineering Department at the nearby Kent State University Salem Technical Branch. The original company was built on Mr. Maroscher’s 400 acre working cattle and apple farm. The manufacturing facility still sits on this picturesque piece of land but has gone through numerous improvements.
In the late 1970s an indoor tennis, racquetball and exercise facility was added so that employees could stay in good physical condition. A year later, the company began manufacturing several original models of the Vorti-Siv gyratory sieves for the Lehmann Division of Mullins Manufacturing also in Salem. By 1973, MM Industries, Inc. purchased the rights and equipment to the entire Vorti-Siv product line. All manufacturing was then relocated to the company’s Salem Grange Road facility.
Over the past five decades the Vorti-Siv has grown and expanded continuously. New sieving and filtration products, along with the development of new wet and dry screening technologies, drove expansion. By 2000 manufacturing space increased to include fabrication, fine metal polishing and warehousing. In 2010, the company purchased Circular Screens Inc. located in Massillon, OH. A 7,500 sq. ft. building addition was completed in February 2011 to house the new acquisition. Circular Screen Division is now able to provide new or re-screen many types of round and rectangular screen elements.
Mission
The small company tradition is the backbone of America. In 1968, we were founded as a small company under the guise of service, quality and custom innovation. While much of today’s business world has become overly complex and non-customer oriented, we will always build our products believing that the customer is the most important part of our business. Every day we strive to provide the finest quality products and service. Even though our organization has grown and embraced technology, we will continue to apply those small company values that have made us successful. Through this mutually beneficial relationship we hope to grow together with our customers into the next generation and beyond.
