White Oak Equipment, Inc. was founded in 1970 with a single location in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  In 1989, White Oak Equipment opened an additional location in Manassas Park to serve the Northern Virginia area.  In 1994 locations were opened in Glen Allen and Chesapeake, Virginia. The Chesapeake branch has since relocated to Suffolk, Virginia. 

In 1992, White Oak Equipment, Inc. and twenty other dealers founded Quipnet, which purchases equipment and parts in bulk quantities and then markets them. This allows Quipnet dealers to offer products for many brands of equipment at competitive prices.

Today the  company prospers under the leadership of Tom Ficklin, President and CEO; Mark McCarty, Vice-President and branch manager of Fredericksburg; and Brian McCarty, Vice-President/Secretary/ Treasurer and branch manager of Glen Allen. 

The company is now a dealer for Takeuchi, Kubota, Morbark, Wacker Neuson and as well as Towmaster trailers.  In 2005 White Oak Equipment was named the top Kubota Construction Equipment dealer in the country.

White Oak Equipment is a community minded business and hosts a Benefit Oyster Roast in order to raise money for a chosen charity, to date raising more than $750,000.  They also support a number of charities throughout the year as the need arises.

The owners of the company are in the day-to-day operations of the company; they are readily available to the customers and employees.  Employees of White Oak Equipment are given opportunities for training and education.  Each department is given a chance to learn more about their job through White Oak Equipment.
