Resilience Emerging from Scarcity and Abundance
The Annual Meeting is one of the few gatherings that bring together more than 4,000 scientific leaders from industry, government agencies, and academic institutions in one unique environment. It’s the premiere opportunity for professionals working in the agronomic, crop, soil, and related sciences to hear about the latest research, meet and learn from their peers, expand their knowledge base, and take advantage of an abundance of networking opportunities to enhance their career. This year’s Annual Meeting will feature more than 3,000 technical presentations, along with a host of networking events and award ceremonies. The world-class exhibition displays the latest scientific equipment, supplies, services, and reference materials available.

2016 Meeting Theme -- Resilience Emerging From Scarcity and Abundance
Our work lives include many examples of scarcity and abundance in our world today:
- Droughts and floods
- Lack of inputs and nutrient excesses in waterways
- Fluctuating prices and access to energy sources
- Agricultural labor scarcity yet concurrent unemployment
- Incomplete access to mega information
Within this context, agriculture and ecosystems are challenged to withstand stressors, adapt, and recover quickly to meet the needs of our growing world.
The 2016 ASA-CSSA-SSSA “Resilience Emerging from Scarcity and Abundance” conference will focus on how we can optimize ecosystem and agricultural system resilience across local and global scales in the face of these extremes.
Specialized Meetings
ASA, CSSA, and SSSA are interested in holding single-topic conferences that promote the Societies. These conferences are separate from the Annual Meeting. People are encouraged to submit conference proposals online. These proposals will be reviewed by the A733 ASA Conference Committee, C733 CSSA Conference Committee, or S733 SSSA Conference Committee. The committee will then make recommendations to their Board of Directors for their final approval.
Please check out the ASA, CSSA, SSSA calendar to make sure your dates are available.
Proposals must be submitted at least eight months prior to the intended conference dates.
