Lansing, MI -- Earlier this month, the American Board of Industrial Hygiene’s LinkedIn group reached a new milestone with its 725th member. The LinkedIn group, launched in late 2012, has been growing at a steady rate as more Certified Industrial Hygienists and the greater industrial hygiene community turn to social media for news, updates and information.
Social media has become a convenient and rapid way for ABIH® to disseminate information and share ideas. In addition to ABIH’s LinkedIn group, both the ACGIH® and AIHA® have groups dedicated to the industrial hygiene profession. ABIH® currently uses its LinkedIn group to post updates about the Certified Industrial Hygienist® (CIH®) program, promote industry certification, and provide a venue for industrial hygiene and environmental, health and safety professionals from across the globe to communicate and learn from many of the industry’s top minds.
“The ABIH® LinkedIn group continues to grow and we invite all CIHs and others in the profession to join the discussion,” said Nicole Greeson, CIH® and Chair of ABIH®. “LinkedIn has been a successful means for us to share updates and news from ABIH® while allowing members to network, ask questions, and even post and respond to job opportunities. In addition to LinkedIn, ABIH® also actively uses Twitter and Facebook as additional social media channels.”
