Ag Energy Coalition Commends USDA for Releasing Clean Energy Investment Map

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- A new U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) website presents a comprehensive map of clean energy development throughout the United States. The Ag Energy Coalition commends USDA for providing Americans clear data on the scope of this effort to date and the impact that USDA’s energy programs are making from coast to coast.

Ag Energy Coalition co-director Lloyd Ritter issued the following statement: “The USDA’s Energy portal demonstrates the positive impact the Farm Bill energy title and related programs are having on the economy, national security, and the environment. It also clearly shows the tremendous potential of these programs to create quality jobs throughout rural America. Every state has benefitted from USDA renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

“The Ag Energy Coalition believes Rural America will be a continuing force for change in the advancement of sustainable energy and renewable chemicals production in the years ahead. With the right policies in place, and requisite funding, the promise of a rural renaissance focused on clean energy solutions will become a reality.”

The Ag Energy Coalition is a broad membership-based consortium of organizations and companies representing the spectrum of clean, renewable energy and bioproducts stakeholders. It includes members focused on energy crop production, conversion technologies, rural economic development, advanced biofuel and renewable electricity production, biobased products, environmental protection, and others. Coalition members are committed to seeing a strong bi-partisan energy title in the next farm bill that builds on the clean energy accomplishments USDA has already realized and that provides resources at a level that enables them to continue this important mission.
