Brian Bowsher to retire from NPL
Having served as Managing Director since March 2009, Brian Bowsher will be retiring from NPL at the end of June 2015.
Brian said:
'It has been an honour to have led NPL over the last six years. I am proud that during this time NPL has significantly grown its science outputs, the impact of this science, and its third-party revenue. Above all, it has been a privilege to work with the fantastic people at NPL whose work is making a real difference to people's lives and livelihoods.'
Amanda Brooks, Director of Innovation at the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, said:
'NPL is approaching a new chapter in its history as we transition from the current government-owned contractor-operator (GoCo) model to a government company in partnership with the universities of Strathclyde and Surrey from January 2015. I would like to thank both Brian and Serco for all they have done in enhancing the reputation of NPL, both nationally and internationally. I am particularly grateful that Brian will remain in post until June next year, which should ensure a smooth transition to the new model.'
