Parsons, KS -- CST Storage today announced the launch of a new weekend shift at its manufacturing facility in Parsons with the addition of 20 new positions.
“We’re excited about this expansion because the people of Parsons are helping us meet our growing customer needs,” said Brad Barkley, Vice President of Manufacturing at CST. “It’s the start of a new chapter in the story of a longstanding relationship that’s been great for everyone involved.”
CST has hired machine operators, shippers, welders and paint line associates, bringing its total worldwide workforce to more than 800 employees. The new weekend shift started April 10 and will increase plant operation by 150 hours monthly.
“We’re looking forward to continued years of growth in Parsons,” said Tim Carpenter, President & CEO, CST Industries. “Our employees, some of the best tank experts in the world, have been major contributors to the Parsons economy since 1972.”
Carpenter says the 20 new positions will deliver an additional $1 million of payroll dollars to the local economy each year. The company expects to hire more employees in Parsons later this year to meet growing demand for its storage tanks. CST Storage tanks are sold in the US and 120 countries for dry and liquid storage in municipal, industrial and agricultural markets. A total of 30,000 tanks have been made in Parsons since 1972 and shipped worldwide.
