Dairy Australia announces 2019 Board Nominees
Dairy Australia has announced the three Board nominees standing for election at the 2019 AGM to be held in November.
There are three vacancies this year for Directors with the following skills, in line with Dairy Australia’s Board skills matrix:
- Finance and governance
- Milk producer
- Research and development
Josephine Rozman is standing for election for the first time and has been nominated for the finance and governance position. She is an experienced company director with strong finance, risk and accounting skills gained through executive and Board roles at Elders Limited, Wine Australia Corporation and AustOn Corporation (a subsidiary of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan) which actively invests in agricultural sectors in Australia.
Jeff Odgers has been nominated to fill the milk producer position. Jeff owns an expanding dairy farming business and is currently a Non-Executive Director of Bega Cheese Ltd and has extensive knowledge of the dairy industry, farm management and fast-moving consumer goods. He has served two terms as a Director and was appointed Chair of Dairy Australia in December 2017. He is keen to maintain continuity in the delivery of initiatives and programs currently in progress.
Professor Paul Wood AO has been nominated for the research and development position. He has over thirty years’ experience in agricultural R&D and is standing for election for a second term. Having been successful as a research scientist and R&D leader, Paul is internationally recognised for his work in veterinary immunology and vaccine development and as an inventor of several patents.
Jan West is not restanding for election.
Chair of Dairy Australia’s Board Selection Committee, David Lord, said:
“These nominees bring a broad set of skills and experience that will add value to our goal of supporting farmers today, and the sustainability of the industry into the future.”
To be successfully elected into the vacant Director roles, each of the three nominees will require more than 50 per cent of the votes cast at the Annual General Meeting.
Applicants who wish to nominate separately to the Board Selection Committee process can submit their nomination in writing, supported by signatures from at least 100 Group A members of Dairy Australia. Nominations must be received by Dairy Australia by 5.00pm on Friday 30 August 2019.
