Danone invests 6 million euro in treatment facilities at Lipetsk dairy plant
MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax) - The Danone group has invested 6 million euro in the water and wastewater treatment facilities at Lipetskiy Molochnyy Kombinat, the company said in a press release.
The company's partner in the project was Enviro-Chemie, which carried out a similar project for Danone in Kemerovo in late 2013.
The press release says that the Lipetsk dairy plant is one of the company's strategically significant factories. It produces around 140,000 tonnes of finished product per year, most of which is milk and quark (tvorog) products.
The new treatment facilities will have capacity to cover all wastewater at the plant.
Danone Group in Russia (Danone-Unimilk until May 17 2013) consists of over 25 companies in Russia and the CIS. Among the largest assets are LLC Danone Industriya, OJSC Petmol (St. Petersburg), OJSC MIlko (Krasnoyarsk), OJSC Samaralakto and OJSC Lipetsk Moloko.
The company estimates that it holds around 21% of the Russian dairy market by volume and more than 25% in value terms.
