The momentum and excitement around the possibility of a .ECO domain that belongs to the sustainability community and is carefully managed in the public interest continues to grow.
The team working for .ECO was humbled to be mentioned in yesterday’s ‘Super Bowl Edition’ of the Washington Post (read article). Indeed, .ECO was the first domain mentioned, front and centre on one of the largest and most respected US newspapers.
The fact that .ECO continues to be the new domain ‘poster child’ is a tribute to the hard work of our independent Stakeholder Council, who has worked diligently to develop a plan for protecting .ECO over the long term: Green Cross International, the World Wildlife Fund, the David Suzuki Foundation, Green Belt Movement, Conservation International, the ISEAL Alliance, Development Alternatives, Terrachoice, Pax World, Verite, Akatu Institute, the Responsible Purchasing Network, Afilias, Deloitte, and others.
We believe .ECO represents a unique, global opportunity for the sustainability community to unite around a common consensus for how to communicate vision of a balanced planet.
Thanks to all who have made this possible.
