Electrofishing commences in Denmark and Lithuania...
Source: Guide Syndicate
One of the key tools available to fisheries management is that of electrofishing. The main purposes for electrofishing are stock assessment, sampling/health surveys, tagging, catching spawners, or eliminating invasive species.
Guide Syndicate will commence electrofishing for sea run brown trout (salmo trutta), in north Jutland, Denmark through July as a means of stock assessment and catching spawners.
In addition, volunteers will be electrofishing in Lithuania over the following weeks, in selected streams, to assist our current trout and grayling management project.
