500 kW plant in Passin jointly operated with agricultural partner
Lohne / Germany -- This autumn the own operations division of EnviTec Biogas AG has grown: After acquiring three times 526 kilowatts (kW) in Sukow, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania in September, an additional 500 kW from the biogas plant in Passin are now boosting the company-owned operations of the biogas all-rounder from Lower Saxony. The farmers Siegfried and Rainer Bretting each have a 25 % share and EnviTec a 50 % share in the new operating company Biogas Passin GmbH & Co. KG.
'We look forward to working with the Bretting family and know that, with them, we have experienced operators on our side', explains Olaf von Lehmden, CEO of the company based in Lohne and Saerbeck. The plant, which has been in company-owned operation since 15 October, was built by EnviTec in 2008 and runs with a mix of corn silage and cattle slurry from the attached agricultural holding.
'For the future, we already plan on installing a drying plant starting in 2017. Additional investments in the area of heat utilisation and catalysts are still outstanding', reports the CEO. With its regular turnovers and attractive margins, the business division has been a firm component of the business strategy of EnviTec since 2007. Just under 59 MW of installed capacity are now in company-owned operation.
