Farmers can save cash by applying liquid fertiliser at drilling
Source: ENDURAMAXX Storage Tanks
Last week Farmers Weekly published an article entitled ‘Farmers can save cash by applying liquid fertiliser at drilling’. The article explained that although the practice was commonplace in Scotland it was a seldom seen in England and Wales.
The author of the piece, Nick Fone, detailed the techniques used by a Lincolnshire grower to adapt machinery and allow him to apply liquid fertiliser at the time of drilling. A front mounted tank is attached to the tractor pulling the drill and feeds the sprayer which operates through nozzles positioned on home built brackets attached to the drill. This allows accurate spacing and minimum wastage thus not only saving money on fertiliser but also on time and other ground/crop production associated costs.
Enduratank manufacture and sump tanks suitable for the purpose fitted to the weight frame of the tractor.
