FIERAGRICOLA: An increasingly international event covering animal farming, markets, sub-contracting and bio-energy
Verona -- The VeronaFiere exhibition dedicated to the primary sector is second on a European scale for its cost/contact ratio, immediately behind Agritechnica in Hannover. Fieragricola this year expects more than 250 buyers from 35 countries. All the mainstays of the event are stronger than ever: Agrimeccanica, Zoosystem, Multi-function Exhibition, Agriservice, Bioenergy Expo. Not to forget precision agriculture and hobby farming. With a major return: John Deere.
Mediterranean, Middle East and Arab countries. Naturally as well as Latin America, Central-Eastern Europe, South-East Asia and giants China and India. Fieragricola, scheduled 4-7 February 2010, further confirms – if there was ever the need - its status as an international and dynamic event.
The next edition in Verona (number 109) will be attended by more than 250 international buyers from 35 countries world-wide. In short, Fieragricola (www.fieragricola.com) is increasingly an 'International Agri-Business Show'. A modern, competitive and effective tool for exploring the world of agriculture and moving around necessarily avant-garde scenarios.
Five theme areas. The layout of Fieragricola 2010 has been updated and expands its exhibition and theme sectors: Agrimeccanica (dedicated to technological and process innovations in the engineering, agricultural machinery and equipment field), Agriservice (innovative services for development in agriculture), Zoosystem (technologies and equipment for livestock breeding, products for animal nutrition and health, insemination centres and semen commercialisation companies, instruments and equipment for veterinary surgeons), Bioenergy Expo (the exhibition dedicated to energy from renewable sources in agriculture, www.bioenergyweb.it), the Multi-Function Exhibition with opportunities for differentiating activities and sources of income.
While remaining a sector to all intents and purposes involved in the primary sector, this year VeronaFiere presents in the Agro-Energy Show - Bioenergy Expo - as an independent event alongside Fieragricola 2010 (4-7 February).
An exhibition attended by all the actors in the 'agricultural value chain'. Fieragricola confirms it status an event focusing on agriculture. As already in 2008, VeronaFiere offers all sector operators the broadest possible exhibition offering, content, attendance, debates, technical and scientific meetings.
Fieragricola in short targets agricultural entrepreneurs, breeders, agricultural mechanisation companies, veterinary surgeons, constructors and agricultural machinery dealers, feed producers and industry producing assets for the primary sector. Initiatives, events and moments of analysis are scheduled in each of these sectors. The complete programme of events (constantly updated) is available on the site www.fieragricola.com.
The main innovations. Impossible to list them all. Zoosystem sees a welcome return, with th ninth edition 'European Open Holstein Show'. A European comparison of Holstein cattle organised by the Verona Provincial Breeders Association, in collaboration with Aia, Apa Brescia and VeronaFiere.
The National Swiss Brown Cow Association will organise the European Brown Swiss Championship.
The animal farming sphere equally has high expectations for the scientific convention dedicated to genomics, the latest frontier (for the time being) in genetics. Fieragricola will welcome a world premiere of certain data concerning genetic improvement, that will have important practical repercussions in terms of rearing dairy cattle.
The Multi-Function Exhibition sees the National Association of Nursery Exporters in the front line with a convention dedicated to exports in the nursery and fruit and vegetable sectors. New scenarios will be outlined by Nomisma as regards hobby farming: gardening, then, but also protection of the landscape and the local area.
AgriService will host the 'Innovation Arena', the technological heart dedicated to technical products for agriculture, landscape management and the multi-function area.
Bioenergy Expo highlights the various value chains associated with green energy, in a context of diversification increasingly vital for the primary sector.
The new Fieragricola observatory will focus on employment: Agrilabor, dedicated to the new professions associated with agriculture, as well as encouraging contacts between supply and demand in the agricultural engineering employment field.
As regards Agrimeccanica, another high profile segment characterising Fieragricola dedicated to mechanisation, mention must be made for the 2010 edition of the return of John Deere to Verona.
As well as the dynamic tests in the outside areas – with a new circuit - visitors will be able to discover ultra-sophisticated new technologies (Hall 6 hosts the second edition of the Precision Farming Exhibition) patented to ensure safety of operators in the fields, but also savings in energy and consumption targeted to reduce overheads, from seeding untilled land to geo-referenced spreading (through the Gps Satellite) of animal husbandry waste water.
Mention must also be made of the convention organised by VeronaFiere in collaboration with Unima and Ceettar, the European Association of Sub-Contractors, which will also be attended by the President of the European Parliament Agriculture Commission, Paolo De Castro.
Analysis and comparisons of an international character will characterise for the first time sectors where Italy is a leader, such as tobacco and rice growing.
