Fluidra’s internationalisation boosts sales by 12%
Fluidra reported excellent performance in the first quarter with sales of 138.6 million euros (+ 12.1%), thanks to its internationalisation and the diversification of its product portfolio.
The operating cash flow (EBITDA) increased by 22.7% to reach 12.0 million euros.
In the framework of the implementation of its lean management programme, Fluidra has created a new model for its branch offices and has announced the imminent opening of a pilot branch in Sant Boi (Barcelona).
Fluidra, the listed Spanish multinational dedicated to the development of applications for the sustainable use of water, released its results for the first quarter of 2011 today.
Sales reached 138.6 million euros, up by 12.1% in comparison with the first quarter last year, thanks to the growth of all of its business units and the acquisition of Aqua Products and Aquatron.
Fluidra secured 76% of these sales outside of Spain. With regard to their evolution by geographical area, Spain grew by 4.3% and the rest of South Europe by 6.3% thanks to the diversification of its product portfolio. In Northeast and East Europe, as well as in Asia and Australia, and the rest of the world, Fluidra reported double digit increases.
The acquisition finalised in March of the American group Aqua Products, the world’s leading electronic pool robot manufacturer, has had a positive impact on both sales and the EBITDA. This has contributed to a significant increase in operating cash flow from 9.8 to 12.0 million euros (+22.7%), as well as to the growth of the company’s divisions.
Net profit, boosted by an increase of 69.7% in the EBIT, reached 0.9 million euros at the end of the first quarter.
The company likewise announced the creation of a new model for its branch offices, in the framework of the implementation of the lean management programme across the group, and the imminent opening of the first pilot branch of Fluidra España in Sant Boi (Barcelona). The new concept reflects Fluidra’s intention to offer a whole range of solutions at a single point of sale to professionals who operate in the pool and wellness, irrigation and water treatment sectors. This new concept focuses on satisfying customer needs by providing efficient service, showrooms with informative displays and self-service areas.
