Iran welcomes Plastic-Puglia
Two days of meetings and discussions between the Plastic-Puglia and Iran. The company, in close cooperation with IAMB, the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari, and together with the technical department of Terremerse Bagnocavallo Cooperative (Ravenna), was invited by the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture to deal with the problems of the agricultural sector , particularly those relating to irrigation. Iran today is forced to “chase” the new technologies. After the opening to the world in 2016 with the release of the restrictive measures by the United Nations, this great country must now fill the technological gap that has hindered the development of the territory. In this context, the Plastic-Puglia, with its fifty-year experience in irrigation, shared its knowledge and skills to ensure that Iran can update and optimize agriculture.
The first meeting was held on February 19 at Arak. In front of an audience of about 150 people, including experts in the agricultural sector, customers, distributors, technicians and officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, the manager of the company explained the new developments and new technologies which today represent the evolution of agriculture and found among those present important consensus and requests for further information and further meetings. On 20 February, however, the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture in Karaj, in a meeting with officials and ministerial technicians, the company has been able to deal with local needs, answering questions and explaining in detail the differences of irrigation products and even the need for specific quota of land for crops. Subsequently, the company was invited to a formal private meeting with the Vice Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Zara, and the general director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Gorgi. “We’re not here to sell our product or take new customers – said the general manager of the company Emiliano Colucci – but to understand the market and find partners with whom to develop and bring here our technology in the irrigation sector, that today we are spreading around the world. We know that in Iran there are some companies that are beginning to produce new types of products, but the technology used is definitely yet to be developed. We have established with the IAMB – concludes Colucci – an agreement under which we will strive to receive training requests by Iranian technicians to enhance the management of existing water networks and train them on the most advanced irrigation techniques. ” Iran today has allocated 1.6 million hectares for subirrigation. Now he has launched a major project that requires that within 10 years the extension of irrigated land should become 6 million hectares. In this context, technology Plastic-Puglia, among the most advanced in existence today, and the participation of the IAMB and Terremerse become fundamental to an integrated development of agriculture, which avoids the waste of energy, water and products and maximize yields and consumption, respecting the environment and investing at work in this area.
