On 19th November at Pedro Larumbe Restaurant in Madrid, about 200 entrepreneurs and people working in the sector got together in the Tenth Conference of Spanish olive oil organized by Alcuza magazine to analyze the actual situation in the olive sector, from the production to marketing and export.
All manufacturers and bottlers considered necessary to avoid sharp fluctuations in prices during the harvest, as this is not positive either for the industry or for the consumers.
Among the speakers, important Pieralisi customers participated as Jaencoop, the leading cooperative group in the province of Jaen, Faiges group in Tarragona, millers from 1840, and Finca La Torre in Malaga, a company with over 2000 years of tradition in olive and whose product has been voted as the best extra virgin olive oil from Spain in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
The afternoon session was also attended by many students coming from Madrid hotel schools who learned to know the secret of olive oil tasting and different types of olive oils. At the end, a live cooking show took place with four important Spanish chefs who highlighted the importance of choosing a good olive oil while preparing a good plate, they even showed to the public the most diverse techniques and combinations with extra virgin olive oil as protagonist.
